Genius Is Trained, Not Just Born

Genius is not simply born. It is trained, educated and developed.

Over the years of building businesses, I have come to appreciate that exceptional ability is rarely the result of talent alone. What we often call “genius” is built through education, discipline, experience, curiosity and continuous learning.

Education gives you the knowledge to understand a problem. Training helps you develop the skills to solve it. Experience teaches you how to navigate challenges, make better decisions and learn from mistakes.

I have seen this in business and in the people I have had the opportunity to work with and mentor. Someone may have great potential, but potential only becomes capability when it is developed deliberately.

That is why I believe we should never limit ourselves or others by what we can do today. Keep learning. Seek out people who have walked the journey before you. Ask questions. Practice. Learn from your failures and keep improving.

Talent may give you a head start but education and deliberate development can take you much further.
